1 minute read

Now that cannabis can be legally purchased and used by adults across Canada, many managers are concerned with how cannabis use may affect their workplace. This paper examines the implications of the legalization of cannabis for different groups of cannabis users in the workplace, in order to identify the distinct legal ramifications for each set of users. It makes recommendations, based on Canadian human rights legislation, regarding managerial policies for dealing with recreational cannabis users, and for accommodating both addicted users and medical users while not jeopardizing a company’s viability and peoples safety.
