Introduction

The Institute of Governance (IOG) is organizing a strategic insights workshop for senior federal government officials to discuss navigating new fiscal challenges. This workshop will draw on lessons learned and best practices from past public sector financial management and deficit reduction initiatives. The event aims to equip senior leaders with the knowledge required to navigate future fiscal measures by examining past strategies' content, approach, impact, and outcomes.

Objectives:

  • Share lessons and insights from previous public sector financial management exercises focusing on what worked, what didn’t, and why.
  • Outline success factors and approaches, as well as minefields and obstacles, in advising, crafting, and implementing public sector financial management strategies in the future.
