Ottawa, Canada – December 9, 2024 – The Board of Directors of the Institute on Governance (IOG) announces the election of Malcolm Brown as Chair of the Board and Catrina Tapley as Vice Chair following elections held on December 4, 2024. The IOG looks forward to their leadership in continuing to advance the organization’s mission to promote good governance.
The IOG also recognizes and expresses its thanks to three departing Board members. Aurèle Thériault, who served as a dedicated Board member for six years, including three years as Chair, helped guide the organization through significant phases of development. Brian Bost, who served as a Board member and Treasurer for six years, contributed to the financial stability and oversight of IOG. Colin McKay, who has served as a Board member for six years, brought valuable insights that have enriched the governance of the organization.
Malcolm Brown and Catrina Tapley bring a wealth of experience to their new roles. Mr. Brown has been a long-time advocate for advancing governance and public service, while Ms. Tapley has demonstrated exemplary leadership throughout her career in public administration. Their leadership and experience will be important as the IOG continues to lead governance initiatives both within Canada and on the international stage.
The Board would like to thank the departing members for their years of service, dedication, and leadership, and to extend a warm welcome to Mr. Brown and Ms. Tapley as they take on their new responsibilities.
