Giving Back by the IOG
Parliamentary democracy is at the heart of Canada’s governance.
That’s why the IOG is a proud sponsor and friend of the Parliamentary Internship Program (PIP), a non-partisan program dedicated to providing young professionals with a strong applied understanding of Canadian parliamentary politics.
The PIP brings a cohort of young professionals to Ottawa for an action-packed year working for two Members of Parliament, one from the government and one from the opposition. As part of this prestige program, the interns write a novel research paper about an element of Parliament or Canadian politics most important to them.
We are pleased to donate to this program by sponsoring the Alfred Hales Prize for best research papers and support these young interns – and the Members of Parliament with whom they work – as they contribute to building a richer understanding of Canada’s governance and parliamentary institutions.
