Myra Mansoor is pursuing a Master of Arts in Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa. She holds an Honours BA in Political Science with a Specialization in Global Citizenship from McMaster University.
Most recently, Myra served as an intern to Senator Katherine Hay at the Senate of Canada, where she researched legislation, monitored parliamentary and committee proceedings, and supported stakeholder engagement. She previously worked as a Program Advisor with the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services in Toronto and, prior to that, supported maternal health and nutrition policy initiatives in Pakistan as an intern with UNICEF.
Her research interests include democratic backsliding, migration policy, and the role of media in shaping public opinion and policy debates. She is particularly interested in how institutions can remain effective, accountable, and responsive in an increasingly complex political environment.
