This course equips mid-to-senior level policy leaders with the practical tools and knowledge needed to navigate government transitions. Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify and navigate the key phases of government transition (planning, election, post-election, and consolidation) with a clear understanding of the public service's role in each phase.
- Identify and understand the roles played by various stakeholders, including political parties and the public service, during the transition process.
- Evaluate potential challenges in the transition process, such as mis- and dis-information, and develop strategies to address these in the context of their role.
- Prepare effective briefing materials for new ministers ensuring that content is aligned with the objectives of the incoming government.
- Ensure that their organization is perceived as trustworthy, professional, and capable of supporting new leadership and the incoming government’s orientation.
