FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Board of Directors Announces Leadership Transition

Ottawa, Canada – July 3, 2024 – The Board of Directors of the Institute on Governance (IOG) announces that President & CEO, David McLaughlin, has left the IOG. The Board extends its thanks to Mr. McLaughlin for his contributions to the organization over the past two years. Under his guidance, IOG has strengthened its mission to promote good governance.

During the interim period, David Murchison, Vice President will assume the role of Interim CEO. Mr. Murchison brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to IOG’s vision, ensuring continuity and stability as the organization moves forward.

The Board of Directors has initiated the process of establishing a hiring committee dedicated to the search for a new President & CEO. This committee will conduct a comprehensive and thorough search to identify a leader who will continue to drive IOG’s strategic objectives and enhance its impact in the governance community. The search for the new CEO will commence shortly.
