Shannon Furness
Shannon (she/her) is a JD-MA student at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law and the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, where she is studying public and international law with a focus on constitutional, administrative, and national security law. Previously, Shannon worked as a strategic policy analyst for the Clerk of the Manitoba Government, and most recently as a law and policy student associate with a lawyer specializing in human rights, non-profit, and employment law. These experiences shape her interest in public sector governance, and she is excited to bring legal, policy, and strategic perspectives to IOG’s work. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys practicing yoga, looking after her plants and her cat Layla, and hunting for knick knacks and antiques at estate sales and flea markets.
