Vice President, Public Governance

John Davies, ICD.D, is a senior executive with more than three decades of experience tackling complex public policy challenges across the Canadian federal government. He currently serves as Vice-President of Public Sector Governance at the Institute on Governance, leading advisory services and major client engagements. Previously, he held senior leadership roles in national security, including A/Senior Assistant Deputy Minister at Public Safety Canada and Executive Director of the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency (NSIRA), where he helped establish Canada’s first multi-agency national security review body. John has extensive experience in governance reform, federal policing, international finance, legislative development, and intergovernmental coordination. He holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and the ICD.D designation.
