Mohammed is responsible for managing various projects in Canada and Iraq. He brings more than 25 years of experience and knowledge obtained from various positions in development programs, humanitarian and crisis response activities and engineering projects, within the United Nations family of organizations, as well as in the public and private sectors in Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman.  

Before joining the IOG, Mohammed worked with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Iraq as a project manager for the Public Sector Modernization Program. He spent 10 years working with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Iraq. In addition to his role in running UNICEF’s regular programs, he was also an active team member in emergency response and recovery programs in Iraq. This work provided him with knowledge and experience in the challenges faced by societies in post-conflict and the difficult transition issues that they face. His successes in this role were a result of his ability to develop close working relationships with governmental and international officials working on multi-partner projects. 

Mohammed holds a Master Degree in Management of Development from the University of Turin in Italy and a Bachelor of Sciences in Civil Engineering from University of Baghdad in IRAQ. He works fluently in English and Arabic.
