As Senior Administrator of Leadership & Learning since October 2019, Heather Heagney has worked with IOG management, leadership program specialists and facilitators, and members of the Learning Centre team to coordinate all aspects of the IOG’s suite of Leadership Programs. From 2010 to 2016, she worked as the Communications and Fundraising Manager at Youville Centre, an accredited Ottawa-based charity. As a key member of the Leadership Team, she contributed in many areas to the Centre, which provides mental health and social services, child development programs, and educational opportunities for pregnant and parenting teen mothers and their children. Heather has also worked in event planning and hospitality over the years, in both Ottawa and Toronto. A passionate writer, Heather has profiled chefs and entrepreneurs and contributed freelance articles to publications such as: Herd Magazine, Good Food Revolution, and the Kitchissippi Times, as well as her former blog, After the Harvest, from which she also self-published a book about food and drink. Heather has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Cinema Studies from the University of Toronto, and an Honours Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services from the Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.
