Aynslie Ogden

Director, Science and Technology, Polar Knowledge Canada

Dr. Aynslie Ogden recently joined Polar Knowledge Canada in the position of Director, Science and Technology. Aynslie has 20 years of experience developing and advising on research program excellence in Canada’s North including 12 years in the leadership role of Science Advisor to the Government of Yukon. In this role she provided strategic direction on corporate science policy, including the recent Yukon COVID-19 Recovery Research Program. She advanced work on a key mandate commitment for the Government of Yukon to establish a corporate approach to respecting and reflecting Indigenous ways of knowing, doing and being in actions and decisions.

Aynslie has supported knowledge-based decision-making and research partnerships at many levels. She sees advances in Indigenous-led research as a key vector for promoting reconciliation and has a deep understanding of communication approaches to reach different audiences.
