This program will be completely offered in a virtual environment. However, going virtual does not mean you lose out on the value of face-to-face learning. Unlike traditional e-learning courses, Stepping into the Executive Cadre is highly interactive and our instructors will ensure you get the most of your experience.

The new virtual formula breaks the regional barriers! Meet colleagues from all across Canada!

The IOG Difference

IOG instructors pair their knowledge of how government works at the highest levels with valuable perspectives gained outside the National Capital Region to provide unique offerings with public trust at the core.

Learn from people who have served with distinction in senior government roles (and also succeeded elsewhere) what it will take to realize your aspirations and deliver for the people who will be counting on you.

“I highly recommend Stepping into the Executive Cadre. Through it I was able to expand my knowledge of myself, my leadership style as well as the leadership needs of today’s public service.”

Shannon, Senior manager, Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada

“The facilitators and guest-speakers are all top-notch with decades of experience, knowledge and wisdom to share with the participants. The bonds I forged with my peers during the program have extended well beyond the graduation and I have a bigger/stronger network as a result!”

John, A/Director, Employment and Social Development Canada

“The leadership program helped me to better understand myself as a person and as a leader. The program provided me with tools to succeed as a good leader, and I am extremely grateful.”

Bernadette, Manager, Employment and Social Development Canada

The Stepping into the Executive Cadre program was an excellent leadership program for those considering the jump to EX and equally for those wanting to explore and enhance their leadership skills. The numerous angles taken and the participatory approach to this program made it impactful in terms of understanding and actually learning how to practice new ways of leading. Thanks to the IOG team for their commitment, especially in shifting from the in-person to virtual learning world in the Covid context. I would definitely recommend this course to others.
