Get ahead of digital disruption. Don’t get left behind.

Governments around the world are struggling to keep pace with the unprecedented disruptions of the digital era. IOG can help you distinguish yourself as someone who grasps the opportunity of these times and reconceptualize authority, accountability, and the role of government today.

Beyond technological change, the digital opportunity facing governments today will define which organizations adapt to serve citizens effectively and which will be left behind.

Our highly acclaimed Digital Executive Leadership Program (DELP) is purpose-built for public sector executives at all levels of government (federal, provincial, municipal) and non-profit leaders who want to better understand the leadership challenges and opportunities in the digital era.

Led by experienced practitioners in public sector digital transformation, DELP consists of five, day-long sessions that explore major digital trends and the implications and opportunities for government operations and service delivery. Key concepts that are covered during the week include design thinking, agile methods, digital technology, data analysis and visualization, digital and data ethics, and approaches to managing and leading digital teams.

The DELP is a Canadian first.

There has never been a greater need for executives and policy leaders at all levels of government to be digitally literate and technologically savvy. The movement for government to embrace the technologies and methods of the digital era has gained momentum in recent years, and the current COVID-19 pandemic crisis is putting pressure on the public sector to work and deliver services digitally like never before.

Part of the Government of Canada’s Digital Academy initiative, DELP provides public sector executives with the digital literacy and leadership skills they need to be effective decision-makers in the rapidly changing policy and service delivery landscape. Over 120 participants from more than 25 federal government departments, as well as provincial and municipal governments, have sent executives and managers to benefit from this unique learning opportunity.

Read Program Director Ryan Androsoff’s reflections in iPolitics on what we’ve learned from running 8 cohorts of the DELP since 2018. Most participants are at the Director or Senior Director level (EX-01/02), however we do also accept more senior executives, as well as managers and senior advisors/specialists (EX-minus 1 level, e.g. CS-04, EC-07).
