V Elp Cover V3

The biggest challenge facing the public service leaders today is preparing for a post-pandemic world. Coming out of COVID-19, governments will face a changed environment that will include paradigm shifts in citizen expectations, the nature of work, the role of government, the use of technology, the delivery of health care, and government internal policies and procedures, to name a few. What leadership skills will be needed to navigate this changing world?

Launching on June 22nd 2020, the IOG’s unique Virtual Executive Leadership Program (vELP) is for committed public sector leaders across all departments and levels of government who are being be called upon to implement the “new normal” of the post-COVID-19 world. Leaders will be expected to lead in a new way, stay connected, and engage others differently while still achieving the best public results.

This program will be completely offered in a virtual environment; however, going virtual doesn't mean you have to lose the value of face-to-face learning. Unlike traditional e-learning courses, this program is highly interactive and based on instructor-led learning.

Program Highlights and Outline

This program is not a classroom program delivered with distance learning tools. It has been created from the ground up to be delivered virtually, with the same high-quality conversations, exchanges and access to experienced executives that you can expect from the IOG. Over the course of this program, and lying under the overarching theme of Leading in the Post-COVID World, Executives participating in the program will:

  • discuss the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the public service;
  • access and debate with high calibre guest speakers;
  • work collaboratively to develop their roles as leaders in the evolving public service.

They will have access to:

With the theme of Leading in the Post-COVID-19 World, participants will explore challenging, robust and relevant topics to their roles as public service leaders. This will include content like:

  • Leading in a complex world;
  • leading change with authenticity;
  • building engagement and collaboration in a new context; and
  • achieving powerful results with distance work teams.

The IOG Difference

We believe in the value of personalized learning. That's why, much like our traditional Executive Leadership Program, the program will be offered live with ongoing access to:

  • seasoned leaders who can answer questions and speak to their experiences;
  • customized help with specific challenges; and
  • a close network of peers and fellow executives that will last long after the program.
