Results, Delivery and Data Analytics – Roadmap to Success

Departments are under increasing pressure to report on their program results and the corresponding outcomes for Canadians.

Managers, unit heads and senior analysts need to get ahead of the game to meet the demands of government to provide data based reports.

This one-day workshop is designed for managers, unit heads and senior analysts working in the Results and Delivery environment. It provides a comprehensive overview of Sir Michael Barber’s "deliverology" as articulated by the Results and Delivery Unit at PCO.

It also provides hands-on instruction on one of the key principles of Results and Delivery: using data to improve program results. Although many organizations are drowning in data, much of it is used for reporting as opposed to defining and acting upon improvement priorities. This course will provide a step-by-step process to help you get the most out of your data.

What you will gain

Participants will learn:

  • The principles behind ‘deliverology’ (Results and Delivery).
  • Challenges faced by program units implementing Results and Delivery and strategies for overcoming those challenges.
  • How to define the data that matter for your program.
  • How to create useful scorecards to monitor results.
  • How to use the performance indicators on your scorecard to identify improvement priorities.
