Workshop on Model Science Integrity Policy

1 day eventIn Ottawa, ON
  • November 20, 20188:00am - 4:00pm

The Government of Canada, on 31 July, released a model policy on scientific integrity. This model policy represents a significant investment in the time and talents of the Professional Institute of the Public Service (PIPS), the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, and the Office of the Chief Science Advisor.

The IOG is hosting a one-day workshop to explore the current policy, implications for government policy development, communications, and human resource implications. The workshop will also explore challenges and opportunities related to the implementation of the model policy.

This workshop is also an opportunity for some open and frank discussions about federal science and research activities in Canada. The Canadian government has a robust intramural science function that informs the work of its programs, policies and regulations across Canada. How does this new model policy contribute to that high standard of work? What are the implications of this work for the functions of government that work alongside science, such as policy, regulation, communications and HR? What are the implications for extramural government research collaboration? This workshop will explore these questions and more.

This workshop is by invitation only.
