Strengthening Democracy in Canada: Re-inventing the Town Hall Meeting
The underlying premise of this paper is that Canada’s democratic structures and processes need strengthening. Focusing on the modern town hall meeting, it explores how this methodology might be applied in Canada in three different contexts: on a national issue; on a large city issue; and on an issue concerning a small setting, such as a First Nations community.
