Pierre Marin

Associate

Mr. Marin was with the Government of Canada for 32 years, gaining significant experience and expertise in strategic policy and program development in various federal departments.
In winter 2008, he was appointed Director General, Environmental Policy, at Transport Canada.  He was responsible for coordinating and providing policy advice on environmental issues related to the transportation sector.  He also represented the department at the International Maritime Organization and the International Civil Aviation Organization.

Prior to joining Transport Canada, Pierre held senior positions at the Treasury Board Secretariat, the Privy Council Office, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Department of Finance.
When at the Treasury Board Secretariat, he worked on government procurement policy and implementation issues associated with government-wide efficiency initiatives to deliver significant operating savings in government procurement and real property services.

He gained significant experience in dealing with Aboriginal issues while he was at Fisheries and Oceans Canada. From 2001 until 2004, he was responsible for the implementation of the Marshall Response Initiative.
From 1986 until 2001, he contributed to policy development and several negotiations of financial assistance to large infrastructure and energy projects with the Department of Finance.

Throughout his career, he provided policy and program management advice in areas of natural resources, Aboriginal, transportation, environment, environmental regulations related to transport and corporate finance.

Mr. Marin holds an M.A. and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Montreal.
