Alan Winberg, Ph.D., has over 30 years experience conducting performance measurement, program evaluations, risk management assignments, and delivering training and workshops in these areas to clients at all levels of government in Canada. He began his consulting practice in 2007, after 30 years of distinguished service in the federal government of Canada, including 13 years as an Assistant Deputy Minister at Treasury Board and Human Resources Development Canada.
Dr. Winberg has distinguished himself as an author, leader, and teacher. In 1987, he published Managing Risk and Uncertainty in International Trade: Canada’s Natural Gas Exports, a book that has been used in Economics and Management courses at hundreds of universities across North America and Europe. From 1990 to 1992 he demonstrated leadership in his field by serving as President of the Canadian Evaluation Society. Dr. Winberg has also been a Professor at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University, teaching project planning and evaluation, program evaluation and performance measurement at the graduate level.
