The new government has signalled that it expects innovation as well as solid policy advice. This updated course explores new concepts like behavioural or ‘nudge’ economics, integrative thinking and design thinking.

The IOG has developed a unique, 2-day Boot Camp to help you prepare for this exciting and challenging new world of policy development and advice.

Why does ‘nudge’ matter to Government of Canada policy analysts?
Policy is moving in new directions, signaled by Destination 2020. The report announces the creation of a new, PCO-led Innovation Hub that “will provide expertise and advice on emerging areas and will help change the way the Public Service does business. It will also support departments in applying new approaches—such as behavioural or ‘nudge’ economics, big data, and social innovation— to complex policy and program challenges.”

The IOG is ahead of the curve. For the past year, it has been sharing with federal public servants its expertise on behavioural economics in our popular Policy 3 day course. Now we have responded to the challenge of Destination 2020 in designing a 2-day Boot Camp called Innovation and ‘Nudge’ Economics– New Policy Frontiers
