New IOG publication: Canadian Political Science and Medicare: Six Decades of Inquiry

Michael A. O’Neill, an Institute Director, Dylan McGuinty, Institute Founder’s Internship Award Recipient, and Bryan Teskey have published a critical review covering 60 years of Canadian political science writings on the topic of medicare.  Published in the pages of Healthcare Policy the study, entitled Canadian Political Science and Medicare: Six Decades of Inquiry, charts the evolution of scholarly writing on the topic of medicare since the topic first attracted the attention of political scientists in 1946.  The paper concludes that there has been a near-consensus among the scholarly community that medicare is « a defining characteristic of the country and its people. »  The complete article can be found on at the journal’s website.
