The Institute on Governance has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University. As part of the MOU, NTU and the IOG will collaborate on activities of mutual interest.

In November, IOG Maryantonett Flumian travelled to China to participate in the Lien China Development Forum in Beijing. Ms. Flumian spoke extensively on Canadian lessons with the « recentralization » of government services drawing on the experiences of Service Canada and Shared Services Canada.

Public sector management is changing throughout the world. Fiscal pressures, changing political and societal expectations and technology acceleration are pushing governments to adapt.  Ms. Flumian also participated in the 2012 International Conference on Public Management in Shanghai to discuss this changing environment. The event was jointly organized by the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the School of International and Public Affairs of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA).
