Back by popular demand! The IOG Executive Leadership Policy Boot camp for policy professionals is concerned with how to take advantage of how the policy process is changing in the government.
A new policy landscape is emerging, requiring new approaches that are agile, integrative and collaborative.
The IOG is responding.
It has revitalized its popular Policy 1 and Policy 2 courses in response to these new challenges and is NOW offering a one-day Policy 3 course that introduces policy developers to innovative tools like behavioral economics and design-thinking. In addition, the IOG believes many policy professionals will be new leaders in the public sector and therefore offers a two-day leadership boot camp on for policy professionals.
Policy professionals have demonstrated their strategic importance in supporting government directions through the implementation of recent budget decisions. This two-day Boot Camp is specifically designed for federal public servants at the EX-1 or equivalent level, including employees recognized as high potential who work in the strategic and program policy sections in their departments or agencies who want to continue to add value in future leadership positions.
Why does executive leadership matter?
Policy leaders in the public service need to adapt to changes in government and be ready to support and guide management tables at a strategic level. This course will give participants the understanding and means to build on their knowledge so that they are equipped to support and influence decision-making.
In today’s environment, learning is more important than ever. In the Sixth Report of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Committee on the Public Service, we read, “It is… necessary to sustain investments in employee training and development, to ensure that the Public Service maintains the capacity to do its job even as the total size of the workforce is shrinking.”
Who should participate in this course?
This course is specifically designed for professionals who work in the strategic and program policy sections in their departments or agencies.
The cost of this course is $1500 (no HST) per person. The price includes expert facilitation, dinner, two lunches and course materials.
