Make Your Voice Heard as Ottawa Goes to The Polls this Fall!

With the Ottawa municipal elections fast approaching, the Institute On Governance (IOG) and Ottawa blog Apartment613 have decided to jointly put together an exciting event to engage Ottawa’s citizens on municipal issues. To promote active citizenship and to encourage electoral participation among Ottawa’s youth, there will be a specific focus on young Canadian voters.

As the mayoralty race takes shape, the partners will organize a live, in person mayoral candidates’ debate that will leverage a number of new social media technologies. Throughout the upcoming months, the IOG and Apartment613 we will be seeking your input as engaged citizens of the City of Ottawa.

We want to know what you need to support your active civic engagement in democratic life.

From time to time, we’ll be updating you on the latest developments and issues about the elections and we will also share with you some of the reasons why we’ve decided to get involved. Our first clip shows IOG Researcher and blogger for Apartment613, François Levesque, on why he thinks governance is important in the municipal context.

Don’t miss the events and active discussions led by the IOG’s resident youth blogger.
