Expert panel on Civil Service Reform: Michael A. O’Neill presenting on the IOG’s perspective on Senior Leadership Development

Last month, the Institute on Governance (IOG) took part in a series of events organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to support the work of Myanmar’s Union Civil Service Board (UCSB) to reform its public sector.

The mission was part of a broader project between the UNDP and the UCSB and involved the delivery of seminars and facilitated workshops on senior executive leadership (SEL) development. The attendees of these events included senior officials of Myanmar’s government, officials from bodies responsible for civil services from across the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN),  international organizations and representatives of Myanmar’s civil society sector and academic institutions.

Dr. Michael A. O’Neill, Senior Director at the IOG, designed and delivered the presentations and workshops based around the IOG’s work on leadership competencies and the principles elaborated in the IOG’s Executive Leadership Program.

The IOG plans to undertake another mission to Myanmar, focusing on the delivery of the IOG’s report and plan for the development of Myanmar SEL.
