Author: Timothy Leis
As a co-applicant along with three universities (University of Victoria, Dalhousie University and OCAD University) and a private company, On Second Thought Advisory, the Institute on Governance has been awarded a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Partnership Development grant entitled: “Digital Governance: Transforming Government Practice for the Digital Era.” This grant will help the IOG augment its leadership role in the development of a formal national and global network that will create and promote new insights and practices in digital governance. Innovation is occurring across organizations and across societies. Accordingly, research in support of innovation has become more collaborative, network based and partnership driven. The partnership grant represents an additional foundation for the development and the expression of the IOG’s actionable leading expertise. Digital governance is relevant to all IOG practice areas: learning and leadership development, public sector modernization as well as public, not-for-profit and indigenous governance.
