CityScapes Roundtable No.5: Toronto Tour

The CityScapes Roundtable Program visited Toronto in January 2003 to learn about the challenges facing large metropolitan areas. The City of Toronto organised a day and a half program that allowed participants to explore multi-level government cooperation, and to examine various issues related to city planning, economic development, effective zoning, the waterfront revitalisation, transportation, housing, urban poverty, immigration and settlement, and youth employment. Participants also met with representatives of all three levels of government and local NGOs.

CityScapes Roundtable No.3: Cities: Still Running on Empty

The third session of CityScapes Roundtable Program featured Don Drummond, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist at TD Bank Financial Group. He presented some ideas on the financial situation of Canadian municipalities and discussed what federal, provincial and local governments can do to help remedy the situation.
